Warner Home Video continues to show little interest in shying away from restoring its deep catalog with the announcement that Doctor Zhivago starring Omar Sharif is coming to Blu-ray (and DVD, downloads) in celebration of the film’s 45th anniversary.
In addition to a “meticulous new restoration,” Warner has put together a 44-page booklet of essays, cast photos, historical film facts along with a CD featuring 8 songs from the film’s soundtrack that will be exclusive to the Blu-ray digi-book edition. Both Blu-ray and DVD versions will include an all-new documentary.
Per Home Media Magazine who broke the story, other bonus features will include a “commentary with Sharif, Steiger and Lady Sandra Lean (wife of David Lean); an introduction by Sharif; a making-of featurette; 11 vintage featurettes; and several other featurettes.”
SRP is set at $35.99 for Blu-ray with Amazon.com pricing and high-res cover art expected shortly.
