Resistance: Fall of Man Playstation 3 screenshots

Sony’s answer to Xbox 360’s collection of first-person shooters and lack of KillZone at their recent press conference is Insomniac Games” marriage of aliens versus US military in “Resistance: Fall of Man.” In RFOM, gamers will take the role of a US military soldier in an alternate 1950’s reality where an alien race called the Chimera have begun an all out assault on humanity. Using a virus, the Chimera is able to turn captured human victims into their own thus multiplying the impending extinction of the human race exponentially. In other words, it’ll take a few soldiers and some big ass guns to save the day.

These first screenshots should/will remind you of Activision’s “Call of Duty” infused with a bit of “Halo 2” and “Half-Life 2.” Not that’s there anything wrong with that, but there’s certainly nothing novel with this borrowed ideas approach. More details will surely surface but as of now, the only real bone that might wet your whistle is support for up to 32 players over Sony’s new upcoming online network.

We’ll have hands-on impressions from a playable version of “Resistance: Fall of Man” in the coming days from the E3 floor.
