PS4 Watch Dogs Launch Day Bundle Tops Amazon’s Video Game Bestsellers

PS4 Watch Dogs Launch Day Bundle Tops Amazon's Video Game BestsellersAmazon.com’s PS4 Watch Dogs Launch Day Bundle pre-order has caught fire after returning to the online retailer a little over a day ago, ascending Amazon’s video game bestsellers chart to claim the top position.

Pre-orders for Sony’s launch day guaranteed bundles had been out of stock at all retailers for several weeks until earlier this week when Amazon.com broke the drought. While the online retailer did not refresh their stock of standalone launch day guaranteed PS4 consoles, they did all back the ability to pre-order all four PS4 launch day bundles. The non-launch day guaranteed PS4 is still available for pre-order at a price of $399.99.

The popularity of PS4 bundles offers some insight into which games early PS4 adopters will be firing up first on their next generation consoles upon receipt. The PS4 Watch Dogs Launch Day Bundle for $459.98 remains the go-to choice and is currently the hottest selling item in all of video games right now at Amazon. This Ubisoft tech-stealth fueled package is followed closely in third place by EA’s big shooter package, the PS4 Battlefield 4 Launch Day Bundle for $499.90, which additionally includes a year’s worth of PS Plus – a requirement for online multiplayer. Ironically the top two bestselling PS4 bundles come with games that will be available on current-gen consoles as well.

Sony’s PS4 Killzone: Shadow Fall Launch Day bundle is in the 11th position, but currently trailers the standalone PS4 in 9th. As with Battlefield, the Killzone Shadow Fall bundle also comes with a PS Plus card and costs just under $500 for the entire bundle package. The final PS4 bundle with Knack hasn’t even cracked the top 40 yet.

Even though Microsoft’s Xbox One Day One Edition console remains unavailable to pre-order at Amazon (for now?), the Xbox One standard edition pre-order remains active and popular. Priced at $499.99, the $499.99 console is currently in the 37th position without a launch day guarantee and continues to climb the charts in the face of Sony’s PS4 Launch Day bundles returning.

Neither PS4 or Xbox One have an official release date yet. If you believe Amazon.com the release date for Xbox One is November 27, two days before Black Friday. The rumored time frame for Sony to release PS4 is currently mid-November. Look for potential release date announcements from one or both publishers during Gamescom next month.

Now the guessing game is on as to when the PS4 Launch Day bundles at Amazon will go out of stock again. If I were a betting man then I would say they may last until Gamescom, but will certainly be cleared out after any new announcements that are made. We will find out one way or the other in just a few more weeks.
