Tonight Sony’s PlayStation 4 next-generation gaming console is launching across North America with only those who pre-ordered or stood in line for hours, or in some case days, able to buy one. In an intriguing PS4 launch twist, we have noticed PS4 in stock to buy online at Amazon.com right now as part of a Kindle Fire HDX Bundle.
Amazon sold out of its allotment of PS4 consoles months ago when their launch day consoles sold out within 48 hours of going live in June, and PS4 bundles with various games sold out in July. Either Amazon got more PS4s then they thought they would or held back inventory as this new PS4 bundle including a Kindle Fire HDX 7″ for $599.99 is live, in stock, and ready to ship immediately.

There does appear to be a caveat to this new PS4 bundle. I had already pre-ordered a PS4 and was signed into my account when first visiting the PS4 Kindle Fire HDX bundle at Amazon. A message appeared under the price stating that the bundle could not be shipped to my default address. However, when I signed out and returned to the page, the message disappeared.
Amazon is most likely trying to protect against resellers who want to buy multiple PS4s to flip on Ebay and other sites. I certainly applaud them for the effort, especially by bundling PS4 with another expensive piece of hardware.
It is important to note that the Amazon PS4 Kindle Fire HDX bundle only includes the PS4 and Amazon tablet. No games are included, so those would have to be added on top of the order.
It will be very interesting to see how long this bundle hangs around, especially considering PS4 is sold out literally everywhere else and Black Friday is lurking.
