Fox is letting the world know just how big a deal Ridley Scott’s upcoming science fiction thriller Prometheus with a series of countdown trailers that tease the upcoming trailer.
Confused yet? Don’t be. In these two short 30-second promotional trailers, Scott talks about his return to the genre he redefined and helped catapult into the big leagues with Blade Runner and Alien, interspersed with the first quick glimpses of footage from the film. Prometheus looks outstanding in these first few seconds of footage already, much less what the full trailer will deliver.
The actual Prometheus trailer is scheduled to arrive sometime Thursday, most likely in the morning. I’ll pass it along as soon as it’s available. Before then, we should get another one of these trailer teasers with new footage on Wednesday. That will be shared as well.
