An Australian retailer, EzyDVD, has added listings for what are likely the new wave of classic James Bond films on Blu-ray.
The next six films listed and due next March are Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever, The Spy Who Loved Me, Licence To Kill, GoldenEye and The World is not Enough.
Though no sign of these titles has appeared in any US retailer or press list yet, the time frame does make sense. Sony originally released Casino Royale theatrically in November and turned it around on home video, including Blu-ray, the following March.
With Quantum of Solace having been released last month, we expect it to arrive on DVD and Blu-ray in March 2009. Since MGM played off the theatrical release of Quantum for the first Bond wave there’s no reason to believe they won’t use the home video push to release wave 2.
We’ll pass along additional information regarding more Bond on Blu-ray as it becomes available.
