Pikachu Edition Nintendo 3DS XL Coming March 24, Bundle Deal Revealed

Pikachu Edition Nintendo 3DS XL Coming March 24Pokemon fans will have two reasons to celebrate on March 24 and not one, as was the case just a few hours ago.

Nintendo has revealed the bright yellow Pikachu Edition Nintendo 3DS XL hand-held system, formerly a Japan exclusive, is coming to North America alongside the release of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity for 3DS. It will sell for $199.99 and come packed with a 4GB SD memory card. It will not, however, include Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity in the package.

Franchise branded Nintendo gaming consoles typically sell out fast, especially the biggies like Zelda, Mario, Metroid and Pokemon, and end up selling on the secondary market for substantial markups. I expect this one to be no exception.

To coincide with the new yellow 3DS, Nintendo is offering a bundle bonus that will score some of you a free game. If you purchase the Pikachu Edition Nintendo 3DS XL and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity or Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon and register both the system and game between March 21 and April 30 with Club Nintendo, you will receive a free download code to one of these games of your choice: Super Mario 3D Land (which still gets play in my home), Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, Star Fox 64 3D or Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive!.
