Paul W.S. Anderson’s disaster epic Pompeii will make its home video debut on May 20 courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Pompeii stars Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) and Emily Browning (Sucker Punch) in a story about the city of Pompeii leading up to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius that buried it under ash. The $100 million film fell short of box office expectations with $23.2 million domestically and $89.9 million worldwide despite extra cash from 3D screenings. The film also stars Kiefer Sutherland, Carrie-Anne Moss, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Jared Harris.
Pompeii should shine on Blu-ray 3D in the combo pack release that also includes the film on Blu-ray and Digital HD. A Blu-ray and Digital HD version, as well as DVD and Digital HD, will also be available. Half of the bonus features are exclusive to Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D as outlined below.
