The drama Passengers limped to a less than $300k domestic box office take with a limited release in only approximately 125 theaters nationwide. It fared better internationally by breaking the $2 million mark but still came up short of expectations considering the draw of stars Anne Hathaway and Patrick Wilson.
Retailer Amazon.com has added an active pre-order link for Passengers on Blu-ray Disc with a March 24 that will give the little-seen film a second chance to find an audience.
The premise is certainly intriguing, centering around Anne’s character who is a grief counselor working with the survivors of a plane crash that mysteriously begin disappearing after the “accident.”
Sony should be formally Passengers any day with full disc specs, bonus features and cover art.
Passengers marks the sixth appearance for Anne Hathaway on Blu-ray. Her other Blu-ray titles can be seen by clicking her name in the disc details below.
