After postponing what was to be a September 2009 release for John Carpenter’s Escape From L.A. on Blu-ray last September, Paramount Home Entertainment has rescheduled the followup to Escape From New York for a May 4 release alongside K-19: The Widowmaker and Saving Private Ryan.
Like its predecessor, Escape From L.A. stars Kurt Russell as venerable Snake Plissken who must escape from an isolated penal colony.
Escape From L.A. comes to Blu-ray in 2.35:1 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio, the latter of which dates when work on this title began as Paramount now utilizes DTS-HD Master Audio on its Blu-ray releases.
Bonus features for Escape From L.A. are limited to the theatrical trailer, but it will be offered in high definition.
