Nintendo has dropped off some new Paper Mario: Sticker Star screenshots and a “demo” trailer just over a month shy from the game’s exclusive debut on 3DS. Though the trailer is called a “demo” trailer, I can’t find any information indicating Nintendo plans on releasing the demo between now and the game’s release.
The trailer illustrates how Mario uses the help of a small Toad army to retrieve a bridge that Bowser Jr. has crumbled up and throw on a high ledge. It also shows how Mario peels stickers and puts them to immediate use, like the fire flower sticker, and also takes on enemies in rpg-style combat. My personal favorite is Mario using a giant fan to easily win a match against three enemies at once.
The Paper Mario franchise makes its hand-held debut in Paper Mario: Sticker Star and will enlist players to collect Royal Stickers and pieces of a crashed Sticker Comet so the Sticker Fest in Decalburg that Bowser interrupted by smashing the Sticker Comet into bits can resume. It’s amazing how Mario characters can naturally slide into any narrative, isn’t it?
Paper Mario: Sticker Star will be available to purchase in stores or as a digital download beginning on November 11, 2012. I apoligize for the small screenshot size; that’s how Nintendo rolls with 3DS screens.
