Oscar season is just around the corner providing studios like Warner Bros. an ideal opportunity to dip into their extensive catalog and release some former Academy Award-winning films on Blu-ray Disc for the first time.
The first two Oscar-timed Blu-ray releases will be Warner’s All the President’s Men and Network, both due in stores on February 15. Look for All the President’s Men (SRP $34.99) starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman to come in “book” packaging that includes a 40-page book with an investigative timeline including the admission by ?Deep Throat.? The bonus features are as follows:
- Telling the Truth About Lies: The Making of All the President?s Men
- Woodward and Bernstein: Lighting the Fire
- Out of the Shadows: The Man Who Was Deep Throat
- Commentary by Robert Redford
- Vintage Featurette Pressure and the Press: The Making of All the President?s Men
- Vintage Jason Robards Interview Excerpt from Dinah!
- Alan J. Pakula Thrillers Trailer Gallery
Network (SRP $19.98) starring Faye Dunaway and Peter Finch?s will come packaged in a standard Blu-ray case and includes these supplements:
- The Making of Network 6-Part Documentary: Tune in to How a Movie Landmark Caught Media Lightning, with Sidebars on Paddy Chayefsky, Getting Mad As Hell and Walter Cronkite?s Reflections
- Vintage Paddy Chayefsky Interview Excerpt from Dinah!, Hosted by Dinah Shore
- Commentary by Director Sidney Lumet
- Private Screenings with Sidney Lumet: Turner Classic Movies Host Robert Osborne Interviews the Director
I’ve got my eyes open for Network and All the President’s Men Blu-ray cover art and will share once they’re in hand.
