Nobunaga and his ambition will once again invade North American shores this fall as Koei Tecmo has announced that Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence will arrive on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC on September 1.
This is the first Nobunaga’s Ambition game to come stateside in over six years. If you don’t know, Nobunaga’s Ambition is a historical, turn-based strategy sim that allows players to try and take over and unite Japan during the turbulent Sengoku era in the 15th century. Nobunaga Oda was a warlord who sought to unite the feudal daimyos into a cohesive — and powerful — nationstate.
According to the series’ long-time producer, Ogasawara, the game will rekindle the fires of war for a new generation.
“It is my distinct pleasure to be able to present the newest installment of Nobunaga’s Ambition to our western audience. I hope gamers will enjoy this one-of-a-kind strategy game that has been refined through 30 years of experience. Don’t miss it!”
Gameplay in Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence will focus on three key elements, Creation, Diplomacy, and War. For a player to successfully win the game, they must be adept at all three. According to the press release, players can use historical characters or create their own in their quest to unite Japan.
Expect more information to be released as the game draws closer, and hopefully we’ll get to see more of Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence at next month’s E3 in Los Angeles.
