Microsoft utilized their nearly week early press briefing preceding the 2007 Tokyo Game Show (TGS) to announce Team NINJA working on a true sequel to ‘Ninja Gaiden’ and will be handing over publishing duties from Tecmo to Microsoft Game Studios, cementing the title as an Xbox 360 exclusive. ‘Ninja Gaiden 2’ is expected to arrive in stores sometime next year — presumably during the holiday season.
Also announced was an early 2008 North American release for Mistwalker’s upcoming role-playing game ‘Lost Odyssey.’ Final Fantasy fans will want to take note as the game is designed and presented by that series’ creator, Hironobu Sakaguchi.
Finally, a new game currently in development at Square Enix, ‘Infinite Discovery,’ involving the moon rapidly descending towards the Earth’s surface, was announced. No additional details or a time frame for release were made available.
