When AMC’s The Walking Dead returns for the back half of its third season this upcoming Sunday, one of the zombies may look familiar to football fans that call western Pennsylvania their home.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward somehow scored the honor of being “zombified” by The Walking Dead makeup guru/producer Greg Nicotero and his crew. We don’t know the fate of the Hines Ward zombie just yet, but I suspect he’ll meet his end in a gruesome way.
For Ward, a cameo on The Walking Dead is his second appearance in a popular franchise in as many years. Last year Ward played the kick returned in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises that scored a touchdown as the field behind him imploded during Bane’s attack. Right now Ward’s agent is making all the right moves and makes you wonder where the former NFL star will turn up next.
