The Avengers is sure to feature numerous memorable quotes from Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark aka Iron Man. More than three weeks away from the film’s theatrical debut, we get to watch several of them in the third The Avengers clip Marvel and Disney have premiered.
For some reason that won’t be clear until the film is seen, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in his full Asgardian gear (sans signature helmet) is hanging out in Tony Stark’s penthouse suite. He probably just crashed the Stark skyscraper moments before the clip begins.
The clip is called “Head Count” as Stark lists off the attributes of The Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye, the “Avengers” that Loki will eventually have to deal with at once. Loki counters with “I have an army,” to which Stark barks back with the now famous line “we have a Hulk.”
What’s curious about the clip is right before Stark starts walking toward Loki, he slips on a pair of bracelets under the cover of a bar where a drink is poured. These bracelets might be tied into a new type of Iron Man suit that Stark can slip into, or perhaps throw up some sort of defense against an attack from Loki’s staff. Whatever they are should figure into Iron Man’s arsenal and possibly even play a role in Iron Man 3.
