A new trailer has washed ashore for Black Sails, the Michael-Bay produced pirate series that will premiere on Starz in January 2014.Starz thinks it has a big hit in Black Sails after the first footage premiered at Comic-Con and generated a lot of buzz. They think so highly of the show that a second season has already been ordered months before the first season will premiere.
Black Sails is set roughly 20 years prior to the events of Treasure Island by author Robert Louis Stevenson. It centers around the travels and exploits of pirate Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) and his crew, which happens to include a young John Silver (Luke Arnold).
As Black Sails is a Starz original, the same cable network responsible for Da Vinci’s Demons and Spartacus, expect regular doses of excessive violence, sex and nudity to crop up on the high seas.
