Showtime has been fairly cryptic with their Dexter: Season 7 trailers thus far. Most revolve around the continuation of that moment from the Season 6 finale in with Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) finally catches Dexter (Michael C. Hall) in the act with his dark passenger at the controls. There was that strange one that with rolling bed sheets and sexual undertones, too, but that will be a distant memory after watching what’s below.
If the following trailer is any indication then Deb’s moment with Dexter in the church is just the beginning of many “discoveries” to come. I won’t discuss all that the trailer infers to keep spoilers off the page. Suffice it to say Deb and Dexter are in for a rocky relationship ahead.
Deb isn’t the only one hot on Dexter’s tail. His sloppiness will turn others within Miami homicide onto his scent and dig up old ghosts Dexter, and probably most of us, thought were dead and gone. Dexter’s past looks to be a crucial clue to his future.
More than anything this new Dexter: Season 7 trailer is thrilling. It’s got me genuinely excited for the new season, something I haven’t been able to say about Dexter for a few years. The end game is in play and with only two seasons left to go, every episode is a countdown to Dexter’s final moments on screen.
Dexter: Season 7 kicks off on Showtime at 9/8c on Sunday, September 30. This trailer proves the new season is not to be missed.
