Paramount and director Brad Bird have tapped into The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for one of the lead villains in Mission Impossible 4.
The villainous role will go to Michael Nyqvist, the Swedish actor who played journalist Mikael Blomkvist in Dragon Tattoo and its two sequels. He will be joined by franchise staple Tom Cruise and returning cast members Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg, along with newcomers Jeremy Renner (The Avengers), Paula Patton and Vladimir Mashkov.
The J.J. Abrams hatched story for Mission Impossible 4 is being kept under tight wraps. Writers Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum helped Abrams flesh it out and turn it into a completed screenplay.
Mission Impossible 4 will begin shooting later this year for a December 16, 2011 release date.
