Microsoft Xbox 360 Sales Nearly Match Wii During Thanksgiving Week

Only two days ago, Nintendo touted moving a whopping 350,000 Wii consoles during Thanksgiving week. Not to be completely outdone, Microsoft has posted their own impressive numbers to CNBC, claiming 310,000 Xbox 360 were snatched up during the same week. That’s only a 40,000 difference separating the reigning champ and what was supposed to be a washed up competitor.

Microsoft also told CNBC they believe Xbox 360 sales outpaced Playstation 3 sales during “Black Friday” week by two to one. Sony, of course, highly doubts this claim, and will not state sales numbers until official NPD data is released on December 13.

The final bragging right Microsoft passed along claims Xbox 360 software sales will beat those of Nintendo Wii and Playstation 3, combined. We suspect both Nintendo and Sony will have a rebuttal to this claim, despite the higher number of Xbox 360 exclusive titles available this holiday season.
