Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has confirmed a January 26 release for Michael Jackson’s This Is It on Blu-ray Disc, DVD and PSP.
The concert film based on what was to be Jackson’s final tour broke numerous box office records within the concert genre during its theatrical run in late October and early November. Sony had been pushing to release it to home video before year’s end but met resistance by exhibitors who did not want the release to interfere with box office receipts.
This Is It on Blu-ray will be presented in 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. There is incentive to check out any version of This Is It on home video thanks to ample bonus features, but the Blu-ray includes several exclusives to sweeten the pot.
