Max Payne arrived in theaters last fall and was met with critical inaccessibility. The film played to the videogame’s sensibilities but failed to connect with critics and moviegoers alike. Gamers liked it, but that only goes so far at the box office.
Next for Max Payne is a date with Blu-ray Disc courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment where it hopes to find a more appropriate audience amongst the PS3 crowd. Fox has announced plans to usher in an unrated cut of the film on January 20 in a special edition high definition set.
