One of the biggest Blu-ray compilation releases this fall is the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase One: Avengers Assembled Blu-ray collection. Housed in a replica S.H.I.E.L.D. briefcase that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) carried in The Avengers, this flashy six-film set aims to please.
Marvel recently released a promotional trailer for the Phase One Blu-ray collection that partially digs a little deeper into the contents of the case than we had previously seen before. From the outside, it looks like the central S.H.I.E.L.D. logo either glows or has some kind of reflective surface. It’s hard to tell for certain and the trailer doesn’t specifically address it.
Inside the briefcase is a removable Tesseract replica that “interactively responds to motion.” I take that to mean the internal glow dynamically changes its pattern as the Tesseract is spun around in its owner hand.
From there the trailer quickly goes through a high level look at the inclusive movie discs (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers) as well as the archival folders with information on the team and films.
There’s one black S.H.I.E.L.D. folder that throws up an “Access Denied” message when the trailer tries to open it. Could this folder possibly include some information on Phase Two? We likely won’t know the answer until the set is released.
