Update: A four-minute video has made its way online from the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One Avengers Assembled Blu-ray set that includes new behind-the-scenes footage from Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World, as well as concept art for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel’s lavish Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One Avengers Assembled was supposed to be ready for release last fall alongside the Blu-ray and DVD debut of The Avengers. Housed in a briefcase that modeled the same one seen the films as carried by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), it was the perfect display piece for the entire run of Phase 1 films on Blu-ray 3D (where applicable) and Blu-ray.
Unfortunately, Marvel forgot to license the briefcase design from the manufacturer and the set was postponed to be redesigned before it had a chance to be released. After a half-year wait the impressive set has finally been released and is virtually identical to what was promised before, save for a slightly different looking briefcase.
Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One Avengers Assembled includes The Incredible Hulk (Blu-ray), Iron Man (Blu-ray), Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray), Thor (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray), Captain America: The First Avenger (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray) and The Avengers (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray) spanning a total of 10 discs.
Other goodies include a glowing Tesseract replica inside the briefcase and a top-secret bonus disc with some Phase 2 sneak peeks (nothing you haven’t seen online already) and the “And Then Shawarma After” featurette. There are also some S.H.I.E.L.D. dossier folders
