Guillermo del Toro produced Mama starring Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (HBO’s Game of Thrones will make its Blu-ray and DVD debut on May 7, 2013. The streaming digital download version will be available two weeks earlier on April 23.
Mama is the story of two vanished girls whose parents were killed. When the girls reappear, their uncle and his girlfriend care for them, but that doesn’t mean their deceased mother is completely out of the picture. The horror thriller was released in cinemas on January 18, 2013 and won its opening weekend with $28.4 million. To date it has earned $70.9 million domestically from a production budget of only $15 million.
The Blu-ray edition of Mama is presented in 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. It includes the DVD, an UltraViolet copy, and the following bonus features:
