‘Lost’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Fourth Seasons on Blu-ray This Fall

Buena Vista Home Entertainment has announced plans to release the fourth seasons of Lost (expected SRP: $96.99) and Grey’s Anatomy on Blu-ray Disc later this year, day-and-date with their respective DVD editions.

Both titles are being dubbed as “expanded” editions designed to offer additional content to offset the reduced number of episodes due to the writer’s strike.

In the case of Lost: Season Four, the second Lost season on Blu-ray following this past year’s fantastic season three set, will offer featurettes that exclusively unlock secrets to the series’ plot and secrets.

Grey’s Anatomy: Season Four, the first appearance on Blu-ray for the series, will offer a beefed-up “Forever Young” episode that includes an audio commentary by executive producer/director Rob Corn.

Other popular television seasons to be distributed by Buena Vista this fall including Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, and Dirty Sexy Money will not be released on Blu-ray yet while Disney continues to evaluate the marketplace.

“Grey’s and Lost are our biggest TV on DVD sellers year over year,” said Lori MacPherson, Disney’s general manager of North America. “They have a broad audience base for Blu-ray. It’s still too early to take all our shows and put them on Blu-ray, but we are proceeding slowly and steadily.”

Grey’s Anatomy: Season Four will arrive first on September 9, followed by Lost: Season Four on December 9. We’ll have much more on these two big fall Blu-ray releases in the months ahead. Stay tuned.
