Ang Lee’s Life of Pi release date on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD has been confirmed for March 12, 2013. Those outside North America will get it a few days earlier on March 8.
Life of Pi stars Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Rafe Spall and Gerard Depardieu, and is widely considered to be a triumph in 3D filmmaking. The film is nominated for 11 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director for Lee, and is based on the best-selling novel from Yann Martel.
Given the film’s acclaim for 3D, Fox has packed on some 3D bonus features for those who purchase the Blu-ray 3D combo pack that also includes Blu-ray, DVD, UltraViolet and a digital copy. Exclusive to the Blu-ray 3D release are the following extras:
