Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have released a new Wii U port of last year’s summer hit game Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes and sent along a launch trailer to back the game’s arrival.
The core gameplay of Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is unchanged between last year’s Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions and the new Wii U version. However, the Wii U hardware allows for some welcome new features that will only enhance gameplay.
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is most engaging as a cooperative game and the Wii U GamePad allows one player to see the whole screen up on the TV while the other sees the whole screen on the GamePad. This eliminates a loss of real estate that split-screen on the current version forces.
Additionally, a single player can opt to play on the main screen or remotely on the GamePad. However, when the main screen is used by a single player, the GamePad functions as the always-on menu so Lego characters can be changed out on the fly and the Gotham City map accessed without having to pause the game.
