On October 24, LRS Media will release ‘Legends of Jazz: Showcase’ on Blu-ray Disc as their first foray into high definition home video. We’ve received some additional information that should make audiophiles with an ear tuned to jazz quite happy.
According to a publicist for the studio, ‘Legends of Jazz: Showcase’ will be presented in widescreen 1080p video and include a trio of audio tracks: Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital 5.1, and PCM Stereo. Unless there is an unfortunate listing error, and we don’t think so, this will mark the first Dolby TrueHD track on a Blu-ray Disc. HD-DVD has already seen several Dolby TrueHD tracks with more on the way.
