Kristen Stewart Up For Live Down in Darkness Female Lead

Kristen Stewart Up For Live Down in Darkness Female LeadKristen Stewart is finally getting some media attention for the right reasons after her name has become attached to a coveted role in Lie Down in Darkness.

According to Vulture, Open Road Media is keen on Stewart taking on the role of Peyton, one of two daughter’s in the unfortunate position of having her drunken father lust after her. The other daughter is a cripple, while the emotionally distant and cold mother is not the easiest to get along with.

Lie Down in Darkness is based on the 1951 novel by William Styron that chronicles the dysfunctional Loftis family. The film adaptation was written Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart) who also has been pegged to direct.

Though Stewart’s name is attached to the project, she hasn’t been formally offered the role as of yet. Open Road Films has not fully financed the project and is only in the early stages of pre-production. They would need to get financing sorted out, nail down a start date and find the male lead to play Stewart’s character’s father before extending the young actress the role.

Kristen Stewart seems hellbent to shake the teenage idol image after the conclusion of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. She will next appear in On The Road and is tapped to co-star with Alex Pettyfer in Vulture
