Kristen Bell has dabbled in film since being violently offed from Tim Kring’s since-canceled television show ‘Heroes.’ Her hiatus from television could soon be coming to an end.
The former ‘Veronica Mars’ star has latched onto a new pilot that Showtime is producing. Titled ‘House of Lies,’ the comedy pilot will star Don Cheadle.
Like many pay-channel television shows, Showtime has derived the idea for ‘House of Lies’ from a book: ‘House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time…’ Though the book title is more descriptive, Showtime’s abbreviated version rolls off the tongue much easier.
Cheadle will portray Marty, a self-loathing management consultant who will do whatever it takes to appease his clients. Bell will serve as his co-worker Jeannie Van Der Hooven, an Ivy-league graduate with a intelligent head on her shoulders that will likely clash with Cheadle’s no-holds-barred style.
‘House of Lies’ will also star another ‘Heroes’ alum in Dawn Oliveri as well as Josh Lawson (‘Romantically Challenged’), Ben Schwartz (‘Undercovers’), and Glynn Turman (‘In Treatment’).
Assuming the pilot is picked up, Bell’s return would likely occur in 2012 when the first full season of ‘House of Lies’ would potentially air.
