Today anyone owning and Xbox 360 and Kinect sensor, along with a Netflix subscription and Xbox Live Gold membership, can control their movie watching experience without an Xbox 360 controller or remote.
Microsoft demoed this functionality at E3 last year prior to Kinect’s launch and seemed like a perfect fit. After turning on your Xbox 360, all you do is say “Xbox Play” and into movie mode your console goes. From there, all the commands like pause, rewind, etc. can be activated either by saying them or with specific hand gestures.
Unfortunately I am not a Netflix subscriber so I cannot check this out for myself. If any of you do happen to give this a go, please comment on its effectiveness in the comments section below.
