Buena Vista Home Entertainment is set to release Joe Johnston’s The Rocketeer on Blu-ray for the first time on December 13, 2011, replacing the old DVD whose transfer was never embraced by the film’s fans.
The Rocketeer Blu-ray release date is expected to coincide with the release of Marvel and Paramount’s Captain America: The First Avenger on Blu-ray and DVD this holiday season. The Rocketeer is also celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Both retro films are directed by Johnston.
