Comic-Con 2013 will kick off numerous new Hot Toys 1:6 scale action figure announcements based on iconic films and television series. A couple teases of what to expect have already been issued; one was already known, one was widely expected, while the other is a bit of a head-scratcher.
Last year’s San Diego Comic-Con saw the unveiling of a massive Hot Toys 1:6 scale Batmobile from the 1966 television series. That was nearly a year ago and the car has yet to go up for pre-order at Sideshow Collectibles. I’m guessing pre-orders will commence with what’s getting ready to join the Batmobile on the pre-order block.
The first Hot Toys teaser is for Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin from the 1966 television series. This dynamic duo should fit perfectly in the 1966 Batmobile and should turn some heads on the convention floor. The big question is what accessories these crime fighters will come with. Anything less than shark repellent bat spray would be a travesty.
Hot Toys followed up the Batman tease with confirmation that the Iron Man 3 Heartbreaker armor will be unveiled at Comic-Con. This figure was previously announced but no images of the toy, aside from the new teaser image below, have been seen in public as of yet. Hot Toys loves their Iron Man figures so expect to see the Igor and Gemini armors also revealed at Comic-Con.
The third tease is for Johnny Depp as Tonto from The Lone Ranger. Clearly Hot Toys decided to exercise their likeness license for Depp long before tracking started to signal The Lone Ranger wouldn’t be kicking up too must dust at the box office. Another Depp figure from Sleepy Hollow has been completed and could also be revealed at Comic-Con.
More Hot Toys Comic-Con figure teases are expected including the Chitauri Footsoldier from The Avengers. I will pass them along as they are revealed.
