Homeland Season 2 Shaping Up: Two Promoted to Series Regular

Homeland Season 2 Shaping Up: Two Promoted to Series RegularTwo memorable but seldom seen characters in the first season of Showtime’s Homeland should be a lot more visible when Season 2 of the acclaimed domestic terrorism drama premieres later this year.

Navid Negahban, the actor behind terrorist mastermind and grieving father Abu Nazir, and David Marciano, playing Carrie’s right-hand tech wizard Virgil, have been bumped up to series regulars for Homeland: Season 2. Both characters played integral roles in the first season, but would appear sporadically amongst the season’s twelve episodes.

Virgil should play an integral role in helping Carrie overcome the “condition” she will be suffering from when the season begins. Nazir, meanwhile, begins the season with a new purpose and may make himself more visible and accessible to achieve his ultimate goals.

Showtime’s Homeland: Season 2 is expected to begin production this May and premiere this fall, most likely in October.
