In an announcement timed ironically a day after Rock Band’s release and instant sell-out, Microsoft, Activision and Red Octane will bring the iconic Halo theme exclusively to the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero III.
The theme will be the MJOLNIR Mix featuring guitars performed by the Grammy Award winning guitar hero, Steve Vai, and performances by Martin O’Donnell & Michael Salvatori, the songs original composers. “It’s a real pleasure to hear one of the best loved and most iconic themes from Bungie’s Halo Universe in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock,” said Marty O’Donnell, Composer and Audio Director for Bungie Studios. “As longtime fans of the Guitar Hero franchise, it was great to collaborate with Neversoft and Activision/RedOctane to offer this exciting free download to our fans.”
The free downloadable song Halo theme will be available only on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 22nd via the Xbox Live Marketplace. Remember to mark your calendars and save some time around Turkey and football.
