Gulliver’s Travels is Fox’s First Blu-ray 3D Retail Release

Fox is breaking into the Blu-ray 3D retail game with Gulliver’s Travels starring Jack Black and Amanda Peet.

A little over a month ago, Amazon.com listed a Blu-ray 3D version of Gulliver’s Travels so we assumed it was a done deal and this film would be the first Fox Blu-ray 3D standalone retail release. A few days later, Fox issued the Gulliver’s Travels home video press release and there was no mention of a Blu-ray 3D version.

Today Fox sent along an update email confirming a Gulliver’s Travels Blu-ray 3D version, and Amazon.com has updated their listing with the cover art. You can see from the first look below that Fox is taking their own route on differentiating Blu-ray 3D from 2D releases with a curved left side graphic and big Blu-ray 3D logo. There may be further differences under the slipcover which is clearly what this image represents.

Following in the footsteps of Disney, Lionsgate, Universal and Sony, Fox’s retail Blu-ray 3D films will also include 2D Blu-ray, DVD and digital copies in the same package.
