Online retailer Amazon.com began taking pre-orders for Paramount’s elaborate The Godfather Collection: The Coppola Restoration four-disc Blu-ray set.
Announced just yesterday and due in stores on September 23, the set includes all three films which have been remastered frame-by-frame under the watchful eye of Francis Ford Coppola and cinematographer Gordon Willis by Robert A. Harris of the Film Preserve.
The real kicker was Paramount’s SRP which the studio listed at a steep $119.99. Amazon lists the SRP at $124.99 which is even worse!
Speculation in the HDR Forums placed the actual Amazon.com pre-order price somewhere between $80 and $90. By George, they were dead on. Amazon.com is now accepting pre-orders for The Godfather Collection: The Coppola Restoration on Blu-ray priced at $86.95.
