Genius Products Remaining 2008 Blu-ray Slate

Rumors have been swirling around the Internet regarding Genius Products Blu-ray Disc releases for the remainder of the year. Is Death Proof really coming? How about Fanboys?

Rather than leave you guys hanging, we did some legwork and dug into a distributor listing of titles to see what’s really on the Genius plate for the remainder of 2008. We also cobbled together the latest Genius Blu-ray cover art which you’ll find at the end of this article, and can now confirm Genius intends to use 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio on all their future Blu-ray releases.

First up in October is George A. Romero’s Diary of the Dead and Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake, scheduled for October 21. Both include a decent number of supplemental features which are outlined below.

On October 28 we have Hell Ride with the following extras.

In November is where information began to be sketchy. As it stands today, you can expect Awake with Hayden Christensen and Jessica Alba on November 18, along with the previous HD DVD release Lucky Number Slevin the same day. A week later on November 25 will see the release of the Woody Allen drama Vicky Christina Barcelona with Scarlett Johansson.

December releases will kick off on the 2nd with The Longshots starring Ice Cube. A few weeks later will see the confirmed release of Planet Terror and Death Proof on December 16, followed by Fanboys on December 23.
