Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced Gattaca, Dogma, and Saawariya are coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 11.
Gattaca was originally announced by Sony to debut on Blu-ray October 17, 2006, well over a year ago. Like several titles dated during that time, it vanished off Sony’s lists into temporary release purgatory.
The first Gattaca announcement identified special features as a single featurette, deleted scenes and outtakes. The re-announcement sees special features buffed up a bit with the following:
- Blooper Reel
- Deleted Scenes
- Featurette
- Substance Test Outtake
- Welcome to Gattaca
- Do Not Alter?
Gattaca technical specs have not been released by the studio at this time, though we expect the switch from PCM to Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio from the original announcement to this pending release.
Dogma will be presented in widescreen 2.4:1 1080p video and presumably Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio. Special features include:
- Cast and Crew Commentary
- Technical Commentary
- 100 minutes of Deleted Scenes with View Askew Crew Intros
- Jay and Bob’s Secret Stash Commercial
Lastly, Saawariya will similarly be presented in widescreen 2.4:1 1080p video and presumably Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio in English and the original Hindi track. The lone special features is a Making of the Music TV Special.
The Gattaca high resolution cover art has been around since 2006 and will not change, though stay tuned for Dogma and Saawariya cover art in the days ahead.
