Each episode of Game of Thrones this season is slowly making us forget that Jaime Lannister was the guy who pushed poor Bran Stark out of a window in the series premiere, paralyzing him from the waist down. We’re been made to feel sorry for him as his strength and dignity is being slowly stripped away.
What will become of Jaime Lannister and Brienne? According to the official synopsis for this week’s new episode of Game of Thrones titled ‘The Climb,’ Jaime’s fate lies with Roose Bolton, a Lord fighting for Robb Stark against the Lannisters. In other words, he’s in the enemies hands now.
Robb has his own issues to deal with. After losing a sizable portion of his army, the last chance for Robb to rebuild his ranks is within House Frey. The problem with that plan is that Robb’s mother had already promised House Frey that Robb would marry one of their daughters. Robb blew that off, and must now compromise with the Frey’s to repair the alliance.
Melisandre has left Dragonstone and will venture to the Riverlands in tonight’s episode in search of a new “seed.” The Riverlands are where Catelyn Stark is from which opens up the potential that these two characters will cross paths in the near future.
One of the best scenes this season was Tywin alerting his son Tyrion and daughter Cersei that they will be wed soon and not to whom they want. Plans for these strategic unions will be getting underway tonight, and you can bet neither Tyrion or Cersei will sit back and do their father’s biddings without scheming their own plans.
As the name ‘The Climb’ implies, the Wildlings with Jon Snow will attempt to scale the Wall and warn those south of it that the White Walkers are coming along with winter. I have a feeling at least a couple Wildlings will plunge to their death from great heights.
Game of Thrones: Season 3 episode 26 ‘The Climb’ premieres tonight at 9/8c on HBO in high definition. Shortly after it starts, HBO subscribers can watch a free live online streaming version of the episode via HBO Go on either the HBO Go website or via the HBO Go app via a mobile phone or tablet such as iPad.
