HBO’s Game of Thrones ended with a “wow” moment last week as Theon Greyjoy revealed the burnt corpses of two young boys to the denizens of Winterfell. They all believe the boys are Bran and Rickon Stark. However, the events leading up to the reveal lead us to believe those are two orphan boys and Theon is making a desperate attempt to solidify his position as Lord of Winterfell despite is growing insecurity.
In tonight’s episode ‘The Prince of Winterfell,’ Theon will receive a visitor as he continues to rule over Winterfell with an iron fist. Little does he know the Starks are already aware of his occupation and Robb, King of the North, wants his head.
Arya has cashed in two of her debts with Jaqen resulting in two dead men. She has one final debt left and takes a different approach on how to complete the obligation. She’s also walking a fine like with Tywin Lannister who continues to suspect the young cup bearer isn’t who she says she is.
Up north beyond the wall, Jon Stark has been outsmarted by Ygritte and will be turned over to a wildling leader, Lord of Bones. He may prove valuable to the wildling cause rather than an easy sacrifice while in captivity.
Daenerys finds herself in a bit of a pickle after Pyat Pree and his new ally, Xaro, kill off the 11 other members of the Qarth council. Pree reveals he stole the dragons, knows where they are and are willing to let Daenerys have them back if she goes to the House of the Undying. Ser Jorah will likely do what he does best and attempt to persuade Daenerys to not trust the new King of Qarth and his deadly assassin friend.
Don’t forget about Lord Stannis, Melisandre and Davos. They’ll be back and one step closer toward launching a massive assault on King’s Landing.
