HBO’s Game of Thrones takes one step closer toward the midpoint of its second season tonight. With so many characters and locations to juggle, those shunned in the previous episode ‘What is Dead May Never Die‘ will be back in the spotlight in ‘Garden of Bones’ as political and brute force jockeying for the Iron Throne continues.
Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), her followers and three young dragons will encounter a potential savior in their unkind stroll through the Red Waste. Her character has done nothing but physically and emotionally suffer since rising from the ashes in the Season 1 finale with creatures that could bring every Iron Throne suitor to their knees.
Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) has been quiet since the purge of King Robert’s bastard children. He’ll be back tonight, and quite enraged at Robb Stark’s (Richard Madden) continuous victories to the north. Sansa (Sophie Turner) might regret being a Stark when Joffrey’s bad temper ticks up several notches. Her fate may rest in the hands of the King’s Hand, Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and the Bronn.
Stannis (Stephen Dillane) and his followers, including the sorceress Melisandre (Carice van Houten), will continue their preparations to attack King’s Landing and take the Iron Throne. While Stannis has the drive, he doesn’t have the army of his younger brother Renly (Gethin Anthony), who also considers himself the next king.
