G.I. Joe: Retaliation Blu-ray Gets a Release Date

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Blu-ray Gets a Release DateParamount and Amazon.com have been taking pre-orders for the Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD versions of Jon M. Chu’s sequel/reboot G.I. Joe: Retaliation since the weekend the film made its theatrical debut. It seems like it’s been a long wait since then and now for a release date, but that very date has now been outed.

The folks over at Joe fansite Hisstank have uncovered a sales sheet for G.I. Joe: Retaliation that clearly prints a July 30, 2013 release date. This sheet also reveals that bonus features will run over one hour in length and include – at minimum – the eight-part making of feature ‘G.I. Joe: Declassified,’ deleted scenes, and the ambiguous “more!”

Sadly there is nothing about a director’s cut mentioned, though as a consolation Paramount is offering free personalized dog tags with each Blu-ray and DVD combo pack. There’s no word on whether this promotion will also extend to the Blu-ray 3D combo pack.

We expect Paramount to formally announce G.I. Joe: Retaliation for home video in the coming weeks with a complete list of bonus features so stay tuned.
