Free Coraline and Ice Age 3 on Blu-ray 3D with Panasonic Viera Purchase

Panasonic has announced a new mail-in promotion that will entitle purchasers of a select Viera Full HD 3D TV between May 16 and July 10, 2010 to Universal’s Coraline and Fox’s Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (Ice Age 3) on Blu-ray 3D.

These two films were selected for this promotion as both were authored at the Compression and Authoring Center of Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory with the filmmakers and studios working together on the encoding process. Each Blu-ray 3D film is promised to “deliver dazzling color and image that is true to the original theatrical release.”

The models eligible for this promotion include the TC-P65VT25 (SRP $4,299.95), TC-P58VT25 (SRP $3,399.95), TC-P54VT25 (SRP $2,999.95) and TC-P50VT25 (SRP $2,599.95). The 58 and 65-inch models will arrive in stores this June while the 50 and 54-inch models are arriving in stores now. Each model includes a pair of Panasonic 3D Active Shutter Lens Eyewear (TY-EW3D10U).

Neither Fox nor Universal has announced plans to offer Coraline or Ice Age 3 on Blu-ray 3D outside of this offer. To date, no film on Blu-ray 3D can be purchased individually (Sony’s Monsters vs. Aliens is available with the purchase of a Samsung Blu-ray 3D bundle).
