On January 8, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Sunshine on Blu-ray Disc. This title will be the first from the studio with Blu-ray Profile 1.1 features where a secondary video and audio stream will play independently on top of the feature film, aka true picture-in-picture.
The disc will also include an enhanced viewing mode, and the first-ever “surround sound mixing” feature. We’ve seen this feature demoed on the Fox lot already and it’s a neat tool for mixer-wannabes who like playing with surround sound in their set-ups.
