Following up on yesterday’s Fox announcement assigning ‘Eragon’ to a March 20 day-and-date release on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, the studio has issued a press release detailing disc details for each version.
The DVD version is will span two-disc and is jam-packed with a feature-length commentary, storyboards and a plethora of making-of featurettes. The Blu-ray version, on the other hand, can be considered Eragon-lite with only several high definition trailers for either ‘Eragon’ or other upcoming Fox titles included. The film and trailers will be pressed onto a 25GB disc via MPEG-2 with 5.1 DTS HD Lossless Master Audio and 1080p video. Dragon fans hoping for a 50GB version with all the DVD trimmings will have to wait for a double dip later on down the road.
We hope to have high resolution cover art for the Blu-ray version of ‘Eragon’ to share later this week.
