We’ve received an invitation to a press conference at the IFA Conference on August 31 in Berlin, Germany, where the The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) will be making a few announcements. Unless the invitation is a major tease, next week you’ll be showered with new information about Playstation 3; new title announcements from Fox (their first), Warner Brothers and Sony; a Blu-ray format update; and a new partner announcement.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend the press conference; however, arrangements are being made so we’ll receive the announcements as soon as they’re available. My best guess is the announcements will set the stage for a major Blu-ray Disc software push starting around the time Playstation 3 is released. That would be a great time to roll out a pair of Spider-Man films, no?
The next few days will certainly feel more like weeks. What better way to help pass time than with wild speculation. What titles do you think Fox will choose for their first presence on Blu-ray?
