The folks over at TV Squad have are sharing a first look at Starz’ ‘Spartacus: Gods of the Arena,’ the upcoming prequel event to the first season of ‘Spartacus: Blood and Sand.’ You can watch the three-minute plus clip below.
The first of six ‘Spartacus: Gods of the Arena’ episodes airs on January 21 with a focus on the rise of Batiatus (John Hannah) to power. Co-starring with Hannah are Lucy Lawless, Jaime Murray and Dustin Clare as Gannicus, the top dog of gladiators with an acute taste for wine and women.
‘Spartacus’ actor Andy Whitfield will make a brief appearance early on ‘Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.’ Andy had to unfortunately bow out of ‘Blood and Sand’s’ second second when his illness returned so this cameo appearance will Likely be his last in the Spartacus role.
