Universal has continually told us that the packaging for Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc were essentially identical. The only difference being slight tweaks to the interior space to accomodate 5 extra discs required for the DVD set.
This morning Universal passed along the first image to surface for the Blu-ray Disc packaging (see below, click to view high resolution version.) Thus far we had only seen the DVD version.
For the most part Universal’s stance on the packaging design for Blu-ray has been correct. It is quite similar to DVD except for a Blu-ray logo belt that wraps around the entire box. It’s bright enough to stand out on store shelves yet small enough not to interfere with the overall aesthetic.
